Get ready to “Drive the Future!”

That’s our theme for the 2019 IABC Heritage Region Communication Conference, which we’re bringing to Detroit on Sept. 22-24. Our planning committee is developing an incredible professional development event and we need your help to shift into high gear!

We are seeking volunteers for a number of roles. Many only require a couple of hours of work, with no long-term commitment. Here’s a sample:

Speaker RFP reviewers – Assess RFPs from potential speakers and follow up with references, etc. on those that are most promising and make recommendations.  Reviewers work in pairs and if possible, new volunteers will be paired with experienced reviewers. Must attend a training conference call on (time TBD).

Writers for marketing materials – As we finalize speakers and other conference details, we’ll need help writing session descriptions, editing bios, and creating other copy that will entice communicators to attend the conference. While we’d love to have writers who will work with us throughout the promotion period, we’re open to those with just a few hours available here and there to write copy.

General event planners – Help us plan a Detroit-style event that participants will remember for years to come! Creative ideas welcomed and wanted.

Social media content creators – Help us promote the conference through social media! Join the marketing team and bring your ideas.

General volunteers – If you’d just like to share in the energy and excitement of the conference, let us know. We can help you find the volunteer role that will fit your interests and schedule.

Dine-Around hosts – Help show off Detroit’s culinary scene to our visitors on Sunday, Sept. 22. Join the Dine-Around team and learn more.
