Bill Grotz

Bill is Director of Communications for General Motors Defense LLC. He began his GM career as a production group leader at Flint, MI Truck Assembly before becoming that facility’s plant communications manager. Grotz has held several positions with increasing responsibility at GM, including leadership roles in Corporate Internal Communications, North America Manufacturing and Labor Communications, and Global Product Communications. Grotz spent ten years as an Army officer serving in infantry line units with the 3rd Infantry Division and 101st Airborne Division, and a special operations assignment with the 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne). His two war zone deployments included Operation Desert Storm as a Bradley rifle platoon leader and the Bosnian Civil War peacekeeping mission as a PSYOP team leader. He earned a B.S. in general engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Michigan – Flint.
