College senior wins Elizabethtown College/IABC Harrisburg’s IABC Award of Excellence
Jaclyn Farrell, a senior Communications major, received the 2016 IABC Award for Excellence in Corporate and Institutional Communication at the Elizabethtown College annual awards banquet held in April. The award, sponsored by IABC Harrisburg, is presented to the Elizabethtown College student who best demonstrates and exemplifies professional competence and ability in developing programs and projects used in corporate media and institutional communications and public relations. Nominations for the award are gathered from students and faculty members.
Jaclyn is a student assistant in the Communication Department of Elizabethtown College and is one of the founding members of the Jay Firm, the college’s student public relations firm.
“This award recognizes her talent as well as her potential for excellence as a young professional,” said Dr. Tamara Gillis, ABC, IABC Fellow, chairman of the Department of Communications at Elizabethtown College.
Carolyn Simpson, President of IABC Harrisburg and Communications Manager at SpiriTrust Lutheran®, attended the annual awards banquet to present the award on behalf of IABC Harrisburg.
